Welcome!

Please read about MoNNY, or Mensa Info for more information about what Mensa is, what it means to its members and How to Join. You can find out about upcoming Events, read the current and past Newsletters, and Help MoNNY by buying from Amazon. We have puzzle answers and other "web-only" content.

Check the list of 100 and vote to make sure your favorite website "makes the cut" and appears in the list of American Mensans' Top 50 web places, due out in March, 2010. This is a great way to find some new favorites!

The Newcomers Dinner is held at 6:00 pm on the third Thursday of each month at The Van Dyk Restaurant and Lounge, 237 Union Street, Schenectady NY 12305 (518-348-7999). Harry Ringermacher, our host, looks an awfully lot like Albert Einstein which makes us easy to find. Call Harry at 518-895-2513 or email ringerha@crd.ge.com for information or encouragement. Come try a panini or the lobster pizza! As at most group dinners this is a self-pay event. Members, their guests, and interested Mensa prospects all welcome.

February Games Night is Saturday, February 20 at 6:00 pm at the home of John Hornberger in Niskayuna. A "food tasting competition" followed by games is planned! Check back soon for more information...or check the newsletter, Facebook, or Yahoo Group! To whet one's "appetite" and prepare oneself for a "typical" Games Night, check out the January 2010 Game Night Recap.

Tuesday Dinner and Trivia is at 6:00 pm (weekly) at O'Toole's Restaurant and Pub, 1814 Central Avenue, Colonie. Come for the food, the drinks or just dessert, and join in the NTN Buzztime Trivia or multiple threads of stimulating conversation! We're usually to the left and all the way back. Lately we have been averaging about a dozen people, so the conversation is constant and the topics varied. Hosted by David MacGregor, who can be reached at (518)275-5534 and dmac.mensa@gmail.com.

Mind Games 2011 will be hosted by Mensa of Northeastern New York in Albany, New York !! Thanks to a strong bid by the team chaired by John Hornberger and thorough hotel research spearheaded by Terri Walsh, we will have about 300 game-playing Mensans here in April, 2011! Now we need to pull it off, so contact John Hornberger if you want to help! For an idea of what it will be like, ask one of the local Mind Games veterans or go to Mind Games 2010 in San Diego.
The Mensa Foundation scholarship applications closed on January 15, 2010. Please see this website and the MERF Scholarship website page for more information in September, 2010.
